The Gazi Attack Review |
The trailer and the promos were so engaging. So, is it worth the wait? Check it out in ‘The Ghazi Attack’ movie review here…
The movie starts with the partition of East Pakistan and West Pakistan. The officers of West Pakistan want to send some basic necessity materials to their soldiers in East Pakistan. But they have to cross the Indian waters to reach there. Their only concern is INS Vikrant, an aircraft carrier of the Indian Navy. So they decide to destroy it with the help of PNS Ghazi. Indian Naval officers however come to know about the plan set by the Pakistanis. They send a submarine, S 21 for a search mission. Officers, Captain Ranvijay Singh (Kay Kay Menon), Lt Commander Arjun Varma (Rana Daggubati), and Executive officer Devraj (Atul Kulkarni) take the lead in S 21. How this search mission turns into a war, is the rest of the story.
The film is based on real incidents but it has been fictionalised with cinematic liberty to dramatize and make it more interesting.
About acting, Rana Daggubati is very good in his role, but then Kay Kay Menon and Atul Kulkarni are outstanding and steal the show, late Om Puri also has brief role in the film which is one of his last films.
Movie just goes on point and from first scene itself it will keep you engaged. There are some really powerful moments that will keep you on the edge of the seat. Editing is a very important part of the film and A Sreekar Prasad has done that wonderfully. Cinematography and the visual effects in the film are superb.
The only disappointing thing in the movie is the character of Taapsee Pannu. It feels the special appearance doesn’t do justice to her talent and actress has been wasted in film.
Verdict
‘The Ghazi Attack’ is a perfect tribute to our unsung heroes. You must watch this one.
Rating : The Gazi Attack gets 3 stars of 5
